Setting running goals for 2021

Setting your running goals for 2020 and 2021 might be different than it used to be for any other year. COVID has certainly made it difficult to schedule races and make plans in general and keeps teaching us to deal with uncertainty. Here are our tips on how to stay motivated and set successful running goals for 2021:


1. Set your own challenges


From setting your own 5k PB to running a longer distance, competing on Strava segments, time trials, or virtual races, there are many ways to set your own challenges and get excited about them. Asia Trail Girls have scheduled a great challenge, where you can explore Asia’s famous peaks and trails virtually, competing against other teams to see who can finish the fastest!


2. Run with a group


Keeping yourself motivated and accountable might be easier when running with a group, so it can be a great idea to schedule some of your runs with a team. It also gives you the social aspect of running and is a good way to test your fitness and pushing yourself a bit harder - especially if you have a competitive side in you!


3. Improve your running without running more


To become a better and stronger runner, you don't have to just run more. Instead, try an incorporate a strength, stretching, and mobility routine into your training schedule.
