What is Vitamin B12?

B12 is an important vitamin that can't be produced by the body and can only be obtained by foods and supplements. It supports the production of blood cells, prevents anemia which can make you weak and tired, and keeps the body's nerve system healthy.

1 BIX effervescent tablet contains 3 mcg of Vitamin B12, covering the daily recommended amount of B12 for adults. Taking 1 tablet of BIX a day will help you maintain your B12 stores.

What are the benefits of Vitamin B12?

B12 helps with red blood cell formation and provides energy, which makes it a crucial nutrient for athletes and active people.

Vitamin B12 also supports your bone health since it has been shown that low Vitamin B12 levels correlate with osteoporosis.

What foods contain Vitamin B12?

Foods that naturally contain B12 mainly derive from animals, such as dairy, eggs, and meat. Some plant-based foods today are also fortified with B12, however, when consuming those make sure you meet the daily recommended amounts.

1 BIX Recovery hydration tablet contains the daily recommended serving of Vitamin B12 for adults.

How much B12 should I take?

Should you be deficient in Vitamin B12, taking the daily recommended doses won't be enough and you would need to supplement with a larger amount of B12.

But if you just need to maintain your B12 levels, then the recommended daily doses will be just fine.

What are the symptoms of B12 deficiency?

B12 deficiency often causes a decrease in red blood cells which can result in low energy, shortness of breath, headaches, disturbed vision, loss of focus, memory loss, and depression.

Is it possible to overdose on B12?

Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin, meaning that too much B12 isn't stored in the body and excreted through urine. With that said it is very unlikely to overdose on Vitamin B12. However, excretion of any unnecessary B12 puts a strain on your kidneys. Therefore it is not recommended to consume large amounts of Vitamin B12 unless you are diagnosed as deficient and have been recommended a larger dose by your doctor.
